Regulations
Fines and lost book regulations
1. Failure to pay fines or to pay for lost or destroyed books will result in the withholding of the student's transcript. Any student who accumulates fines in the excess of $10.00 during the semester will forfeit checkout privileges.
2. For books lost or damaged beyond repair, the student is to pay the price of the book plus a $15.00 cataloging charge and the fine. If the price of the book cannot be verified, a price of $25.00 will be assigned to the book plus the additional charges. The librarian will repair books at the student's expense.
General Regulations
1. It is imperative that order and quiet be maintained at all times in the LRC.
2. Marking of books, turning down pages, and inserting bulky objects in the books is forbidden.
3. Checkout all LRC materials before leaving the LRC. Return materials to the checkout desk when the LRC is open. A Book Return is made available for hours the LRC is not open.
4. Please do not reshelve materials. The staff will gladly reshelve them for you.
5. Textbooks and other personal belongings are not to be left in the LRC.
6. The work area is for LRC personnel only.
7. The phone is not for student use. Please do not ask to use it.
8. Materials should be returned on time in consideration of others who need or want to use them.
9. Students should abide by the Hillsdale FWB College Computer Usage Policy and specific policy as posted for the computers in the library.
10. A Claimed Return Processing form is available if you question the return of an item.
